Machiavelli would love our pizza.

At The Roman Candle, pizza is the means, not the end. Sorry to go all Philosophy 101 on you, but when Tom Cranley and Brewer Stouffer set out to start something new, pizza was the medium, but only part of the message.

They set out to recreate the kind of place they experienced in Europe during their wander years. A place where friends, families, and just plain anyone could go for great food, wonderful conversation, and maybe a drink or two.

Pizza is the invitation. But each Roman Candle Pizzeria is il festa. A place where family, friends and neighbors can gather for good times and even better food. Each restaurant is our ongoing attempt to bring la dolce vita to the streets of Madison. So do the ends justify the means? When it’s pizza this good even dour old Nicolo would have to say, “si.”
